What are you setting as the max for fish? I'd say you're just about there. I think a blenny would be a good addition.

For me that's my max..I have a 30 gallon. But I'm not the OP :-)

Look at a yellow midas blenny or some cardinals...I like the red spot, red stoplight, and the yellow stripe.

I have one each of a yellow banded possum wrasse, purple stripe dottyback and tomato clown and they are always swimming around!
One thing I have noticed (and this came after I started diving) ...once I started paying a little more for farmed or cultured fish-seemed this type of stock are used to a tank environment -no environmental shock-& hence waaaaaay more out & about so worth every penny-although I've got some good deals lately-same $$ as those pulled off our reefs.

It also makes sense that the aggression shld go down, right? I mean on the reef everyone's got to find a home and protect themselves from predators so being territorial and aggressive makes sense, survival of the fittest, but now in tanks the aggression shld slowly die down w the aquacultured fish being that there's no need for such behavior...I think? Just my two cents

Even though aquacultered fish MAY be less aggressive than their wild counterparts, just being bred by man does not undo millions of years of evolution. Almost all fish become more aggressive as they become larger especially in smaller tanks.

Of course but remember the reason they're aggressive is due to the need of that trait in the wild but take the need away eventually the trait will go as well, same with dogs which come from wolves. Wolves in nature don't have that "please my master" instinct, far from it. Breeding, however changed millions of years of instinct of being head of the food chain to potty trained pets

But cats also have been with humans for a long time, and a lot of that instinct to hunt and be territorial is there, and that's after thousands of generations. Hard wired survival instinct will not diminish with fish after just a few generations.
