Looking for suggestions for a fish that eats bubble algae for a 40 gallon mixed reef. I know emerald crabs are a good choice, but there was a "fish murder" incident involving a crab in the summer of 2018 and the wife simply will not give another crab a chance! All fish suggestions are appreciated.

I'd recommend Vibrant instead....no fish, and it does take away a lot of the bubble algae over time, especially if you start manually removing the bubbles. Fluconazole works too, but you need to dose it in very large amounts. There aren't that many well known algae eating fish that are suitable for small tanks...and less so, fish that will go after bubble algae.

Try using ur tubing that u use to siphon water out for water change and suck that stuff out!!!!

I have emerald crabs. A lot of people have issues with them eating fish, but most of the time the fish died from something else and the crabs do what crabs do, eat the leftovers.
