Good Morning Reefers
When you have a bunch of stuff laying around and your 75g mixed reef build just isn't going as fast as you'd like it too.....you might find yourself doing what I did last night.
I decided to put a 10g tank I had laying around to use, and decided I would try my hand at a nano tank, and use it for a coral growout tank. The idea being, I can growout some frags or colonies I want while I put together my 75g mixed reef. Currently I am resealing the 75g tank that I have dubbed "The grand experiment" and I want to build a stand for that tank so its quite a ways down the road. This tank will occupy my time till then, along with my 20g mantis shrimp tank.
anyways, 10g tank details.
Aqueon 10g standard tank
Arctic T247b LED fixture
Ehieim (spelling) heater
Aqueon QuietFlow HOB
Dry black sand, no name
Billy's Reef, Dry rubble leftovers from mantis tank
Having maintained a 20g for a while now I am interested in the challenge of a smaller, simpler tank. My plan is to simply cure a minimal amount of LR (see pics) and then place frag racks through-out the tank. Minimalist approach and treat the tank like a garden, sans fishys, using pure amonia dosing and Special Blend to cycle. We'll see how it goes I suppose. now for what you reefers really want...
