I wanna do what you if you think that’s cheap

Zetlight 1201. It's programmable and will take care of softies and some lps just fine. Has "sunrise" and " sunset" settings, night mode, etc. Got mine for 70 bucks.
I would have to get 2 wouldn’t I

New, yes. I can sell you the light only for 120

Thanks for the offer but it will be a while before I can save up enough money to get one. I am a jobless college student lol

I just set up a tank for my kid. It's 16.5 x 16.5 and 18" tall. The Zetlight 1201 covers the area just fine. A lot of this decision depends on what you plan on keeping in it. Soft corals, like leathers, mushrooms and even some LPS like frogspawn and other Hardy corals will do just fine with it. If you get into more advanced corals, or plan on getting an anemone, I would go with something stronger like maybe a Kessil 160, more money though. I was impressed with the Zetlight's price point and the build quality seems great. The programming was simple to set up. You can adjust the intensity of the whites and blues separately, and run a program to cover your complete 24 hours.

For my black box led, I just made a structure of some PVC. Total cost about $8 if I remember correctly. It might be a bit of an eye sore, but I will probably paint it next time I have a chance. Also, I'm planning on drilling a whole in the horizontal piece of PVC and running the power cord through it, just didn't get around to it yet.
