Ever see RBTA's this small? They are only about 1-1.5" across fully inflated! I put them in my 20 gallon, so I don't lose them!
They are both propagated. Guess you don't need to cut off much for them to survive.

See the hermits below the nem for size reference.

This one is a clone from my dad's tank.

Those are pretty. I would like to get ahold of one some day. Do you have issues with them bothering other corals?

I just got mine and don't have them with any other corals, besides that hitchhiker xenia. I'm planning on having a clown/BTA/frogspawn only tank.

My dad has his in his reef tank. So far the BTA's don't seem to hurt monti's that bad (it will turn brownish where they touch it, but doesn't seem to kill it) and mushrooms (other than blocking light from the shroom). They did totally kill some zoas and really hurt a cup coral (had big black spots on it where the nem touched it. it recovered though).

So I would say, if you can keep one happy in one spot, they are great. If not and it goes wondering, it's a risk.

I didn't cut them, but the guy who does, I think just takes a clean razor to them. He'll cut up anything! He's been in the hobby forever and has no fear. lol

I hand fed some mysis to the nems today. They ate it really quickly. The tiny ones haven't been moving around, but the big clone is starting to walk around the tank. I'm thinking I need to put a stronger light on the tank. It has a 70W MH on it with an old bulb. I'm going to replace it with a 150W MH and buy a new bulb for it. Do nems like bluer or whiter light? I think I'll get a 14K bulb, unless they prefer a different color.

If you ever want to sell one of those babies, please let me know. They would be perfect size for my nano, at least for a little while:bigsmile:

How did you cut it?

I just recently cut an rbta that was getting too big. I look sharp scissors and cut right down the middle. I put half back in the tank. I then took the half I had left and cut it down the middle. That was probably a month ago and all three are healthy and doing fine.

Not me but this is where I got the idea.

Update

Well the nems are bigger already! And my clowns love them!

The clowns don't really like this guy.

Sorry to hear that. Did both halves die?

Here's some updated pics. They are still growing! I recently got some silversides for them and they seem to like them.

Thanks! They are growing so much! I added my dad's RBTA and GBTA to the tank, he had some tank troubles, and my clowns look like they are in heaven. Five anemones to choose from! They use each and every one of them! :xd:

I love the look of nems! I am a beginner in this hobby though, tank is set up and ready getting fish tomorrow, how easy are the nems too look after? Is it best to have a established tank first? Love your pictures!
