After a long break from saltwater, I have just set up a Pico reef tank. Past tanks have been reef/fish tanks. This will Coral focused, so I am committed/prepared to pay more attention to levels and lighting.

Given the size of the tank, a heater of any size is a tight fit. Water temp is stable at 75 without a heater. How important is it to find a way for a heater to get it up to 77/78? Will corals (zoos, mushrooms, leathers, softs) do ok at 75 degrees?

Note: this tank will stick with beginner/soft corals.

75 should be fine. I expected you to say your tank was getting in the 80s we are having an extreme heat wave in Ca now at 104 currently.

I'm in Florida. Fortunately, I keep the AC at 74. The lights bring the temp up to a consistent 75. I'm glad to hear that shouldn't be an issue.
