Hi I have a ~35 gal nano reef. Lots of zoas/palys, some montipora, maze brain, leather, frogspawn, xenia and anthelia. I'd like to add a shrimp... something pretty, but perhaps also functional, and definitely safe for my livestock. Any recommendations? Thank you!

+1 for the scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp. Active critter that serves a purpose and looks cool :) I had a fire shrimp, but basically never saw em lol.

I have several sexy shrimp in my tank. They all flock together and hang out on LPS corals and anemones. Very cool shrimp that do not both anything and don't steal food when I try to feed the LPS corals.

Thanks for these recommendations. Are these various types of shrimp generally compatible with one another?

I have a Skunk Cleaner Shrimp in my 32 gallon and my only warning is that it will start to steal food from your corals when you feed them. I feel like it's too big for the tank as well, planning to rehome it after things go back to normal.

Ancylomenes sp. and Periclimenes sp. are really cool and stay small (around an inch in length). They get my vote.

Just be aware though that if you like target feeding your LPS corals, at some point shrimp often learn that the corals stomach is a larder waiting to be raided later of its tasty contents....especially in the usually more relaxed confines of a Nano reef

I tried sexy shrimp in my nano all was well with the first two, model citizens.....i then added another three and noticed my Acan's going downhill one of the new additions was actively ripping healthy flesh from the my Acan corals and consuming it the other two new sexy shrimp were watching learnt and joined in the massacre (the two original ones did not)......sadly ended up having to resort to sucking them out with a hose as they were just impossible to net

As soon as they were removed the Acans recovered just fine

Sexy!!! Sexy shrimp!! He’s a good boy and hosts my anemone/blastomussa and is just perfect I love him so much. Only $15. I’m working on getting him some friends. I also have a baby fire shrimp who eats from my fingers. Very cute little guy and I feel very pampered when he gives me a little cleaning

UPDATE: I got a tiger pistol shrimp, who promptly dug a hole and hid. Hopefully it gets friendly with my yellow watchman goby. Also got a small skunk cleaner. All is well so far.
