I’m new to the SW world. I have been running freshwater for about 3 years and really wanted to get into the SW lifestyle! I’m just throwing this thread out here because I want to see everyone’s nano setups and comment any tips, tricks, equipment you may use, etc. I’m currently running a 10 gallon IM Nuvo Fusion and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s been running for about two months. Open to any ideas and suggestions I have used this community to gather sooooo much knowledge to get my reef started. I’m super thankful for this community! Thanks!!!!!!

welcome to R2R! :)

I am a fellow Nano Reefer........ looks like you are off to a good start. The IM10 is a very popular tank. What are your plans for it?

I plan on getting an ATO for it. The manual top offs a becoming a pain lol. I just added a pair off clowns, I wasn’t gonna do fish but my girlfriend insisted we got some “nemos”. I was focused more towards coral I am in complete awe when it comes to coral. And later down the road I’m definitely going to be upgrading tank size! But other than that I’m just keeping it relatively simple and learning as much as I can!

I think getting a “Nemo” is required at least once! :D ...........but no one tells you that Nemo is usually a butthole! lol

I have one of these that I’ve set up and taken down at least half a dozen times, I love the form factor. Just do big water changes every week (3-5 gallons) and you’ll be able to keep any coral you want. The only negative about that tank is that literally every time I’ve set it up, like 2 months later, I decide to replace it with a bigger tank. I wouldn’t add any more fish other than the 2 clowns, and an ATO is a must.

Welcome to the salty side. Your tank looks awesome. There are lots of nano reefers here, so you should get some great advice. Your right. R2R is an amazing source of information. Glad to have you with us.

Could you maybe point me in a direction for ATO? I’ve read mixed reviews on some. Kinda stuck on what one to choose.

Heaters & auto top off units are the two things that it seems like everyone hates and can’t ever find perfect products. I’ve been using the same tunze osmelstor nano on all of my tanks since I got into this hobby 4 years ago. It’s great but also isn’t without its faults. You need to clean it constantly, and I also have mine turn off for 10 minutes a couple of times each day so it has a chance to reset. All that said, I was hunting around last week for a new one and the posts I could find all indicated that the tunze was the longest lasting and most reliable.
