I currently run an Aquaticlife 115 skimmer on my 29 gallon reef tank, it has been making a lot of noise lately and I've already looked at it, took it apart and everything else, I've talked to the company and they couldn't really do anything for me. I've tried the Hydor slim skim nano before, it just requires too much tinkering with it and never functioned properly for me for more than a day. I would like to buy a new protein skimmer. The big problem is that I have a size restraint, the hole the skimmer must fit in is 4x4 and those seem to be the only skimmers that will fit. I have seen another forum that talked about an airline mod on the aquatic life skimmer but never went into detail about it. How would I go about doing an airline mod? Does anyone else have a problem with sounds coming from their aquaticlife 115? How did/would you fix that ? Are there any other skimmers that will fit in a 4x4 hole that are internal? Thanks
