nano stand idea from quick frame?

so if black Friday is good to me I will be getting a IM 25 lagoon.
24x20x12
I have been playing around with stand ideas from everything form Ikea cabinets to 100%plywood to industrial steel pipes keeping it open.

my lasted idea I the 80/20 quick frame https://8020.net/shop/9000.html I believe this to be a nice option because:
is 1" square and requites no tools except a rubber hammer and a saw to cut them if I dont have them cut to size ( witch more than likely I will.)
fast and easy assembly.
lots of skinning or trimming options I have an idea to make a supper modern design...


I know this is pretty popular in Europe even for big tanks. but from my very limited research they use a metal in there corners. but for a 25 lagon i believe the 80/20 should be more than enough.

I dont want or think I need to use the T slot over kill for that tank.

so thoughts guys?

looking to do something like this but with out the feet so the whole frame rests on the floor like we do with 2x4 stands.

might put the extra center brace just cuz we over do it here in the US. not sure its needed tho as it only a 24" span..
will do a plywood top and bottom for ATO res.

80/20 is very popular in other countries because it’s so cheap there! we pay a hefty premium for it. question - do you plan on skinning it? if so, then you might as well build the whole thing from high quality plywood.

that was my original idea to use plywood, then I got thinking...
with the cost of some tool I dont have ( poll clamps & kreg jig clamp ) I started to look into other options.

I talked to the ppl at 80/20 they dont recommend it of course they want you to but the T slot.
the price is about .20 more per inch. the problem is all the do dads and corner braces.

that said I will still price out some 10 series T slot just over kill for a nano...I would love to do that for my 90 and should have from the get go.

it would seam quick frame would and should work for a 25 gal nano about around 200# of weight.

yup, all the corner brackets and such are expensive. i'm going to use 80/20 for my mixing station, lol. talk about overkill.

I love there stuff just wish I knew more about it. it's over whelming with all the options out there.

If you’re getting an Innovative Marine tank.... why not just buy their extruded aluminum stand to go with it?

You’ll end up spending just as much doing your own thing after you consider shipping, fasteners, feet, hinges, etc.

My lagoon is sitting on stand that could probably hold my 93 cube without a problem. My woodworking father in law took my "lets make a simple stand" request and threw it out the window. Go for simple and sturdy. Skin it and enjoy.
