Hey guys,

For a long time I've been lurking around and after about 5 years out of the hobby decided to start up a nano reef tank. So I bought a new fluval spec V. Have been running it with 5 lbs of live rock, 7-8 lbs of live aragonite sand, and 5 gallons of Nutri seawater (I don't mix my own water because I am lazy).

Equipment:

Standard Filter on Spec V upgraded with RIO 800 pump putting out about 210 GPH.

Hyder Koralia Nano 250 Powerhead (On order)

Wavepoint 18" 15 watt LED lights (Picking up tomorrow)

So now after a few weeks of running, I went and picked up a few new inhabitants for the tank. I got 3 nassarius/Cerite snails (We couldn't figure out what they were), 1 emerald green crab, 4 small zebra hermits, and a blood shrimp (Small). I'm going to wait another 2 weeks or so and give the filter time to catch up. I'm looking to add maybe a small clown fish and a bluedot jawfish. What are your opinions on this? Too much? Can I do more? Any different fish you recommend? Also, as far as corals, I was going to do some zoas, mushrooms and I was hoping to get a hammer and frogspawn in there as well. Again, opinions please :)

Please excuse the streaks and sand dust on the inside glass. Mag float is on order with the koralia :)

Nice start!
I would be careful with the emerald crab as they are opportunistic feeders (smaller fish and soft corals).
A nice goby or blenny would be a good choice for your tank.

Thanks. I really wanted a Pom Pom Crab but nobody seems to have anything but the emeralds anymore so I had to settle. Maybe I'll just bite and order it online

Are you familiar with corals? Do you think I could get away with hammers and frogspawn with 15 watts? It's about 3 watts per gallon
