I have a fluval Aqua clear and a fluval power head I think the power head is too much it’s a 30 gallon tank what wave maker should I invest my hard earned money into for good lps flow but not too much I want a wave maker instead of power head I think it needs that but let me know what you think ! Every comment is highly appreciated !

The new octo pulse 2 from reef octopus may be a good choice or one of the gyre from red sea may be a good value.

Are there any that are near as affective but not almost 300 I know I said I want to invest but I want to make absolutely sure before I spend a full 300$ on flow

When i started my tank 6 years ago my lfs gave me different options for my equipment. I went with what i feel was more high end radions reef octopus tunse. And knock on wood all the equipment i bought then is still working flawlessly so i feel that is value. I could have bought pump for 100.00 and those could still work today. But this is just my opinion. Good luck

nero, gyre 1k, one of them small sicce pumps would work on low settings

Tunze has the NanoStream Turbelle 6040 and controller that has variable speeds. They have a unique design which is flat to the glass. You can run it with the diverter or remove it for classic straight flow.

In my 29gal have three 6020's on my apex, I mimic tidal flow including slack tides (no flow) and all on period to kick up detritus.

Honestly best bang for your buck. Jebao. I run their powerheads and they are very powerful and very cheap. I use the SLW series on my tank and they're dead silent with a low profile (Nero 5). I can buy 5 Jebaos that will sink the titanic for the price of 1 Ecotech Quiet Drive. No need to spend hundreds on equipment just because its name brand in my opinion as a broke college reefer.

They have multiple modes and can create a wave in your tank, they have pulse mode, ramp mode, continuous mode, random mode, and alternating mode. I use 2 in my 75 gallon 4ft tank and can create a wave.

This, I run an older RW-15 on else (random) mode in approx. 75 G display, shifts a lot of water!

What pump do you have ? Can you adjust the percentage of power as well as modes

Do you think you could control it that good without an apex ? I don’t have one but does sound nice .....

I have the Hydor Aqamai in my nano and love it...size of an egg set at 20 to 40% smooth flow mode which raises and drops the flow in a slow steady rate

Lovely little pump well worth the investment

Thank you I really do like that design and that app you can download !!! I’m pretty sure I’m going with this not a bad deal 180$ vs 300 for the other name brands that are similar Gonna wait until next check and get that and throw my fluval in a bucket for mixing salts ! Thank you all for input
