Hey guys!
So I'm going to be sleeping on a friends couch and he loves fish, in college when I bought my first freshwater tank he bought the same one the next day. So he said he would be totally cool with me setting up a nano tank so I can keep the fish I have,

I'm really looking at the Nuvo marine Nano tanks or a biocube. The Nuvo tanks are very affordable and only $100 for 10 Gallon and $200 for 20 Gallon. Since I just bought the led lights I can just hang one above and be good to go. 20 gallon is really a small as I would want to go. I can use a stand I have until I can afford to buy the appropriate stand. The biocube 29 would be about $280 new. The stand for the Nuvo 20G is $200 where as the biocube stand is $130 so they come out about even.

I was also hoping to maybe find a used biocube. But if I have to start new $200 is pretty cheap for the Nuvo and it is quite nice looking.
Anyone have experience with either or suggestions? Thank you !

I currently have a nuvo fusion 30l but I've owned a 29g biocube in the past and I can tell you that I'm much happier with the innovative marine tank. The filtration is similar but if you don't have an auto top off the open top of the fusion can be a pain to manually top off everyday. That's about the only draw back of the fusion vs. the biocube IMO. I think the look of the biocube is somewhat dated and I like the lighting options the nuvo gives you vs. having to run the compact fluorescents or trying to retro fit LEDs into the hood of the biocube. Also, I love how easy it is to work on the shallow fusion tanks. The biocube will you give you more depth to work with when aquascaping but the slimmer footprint of the fusion was easier to work into the decor of the room.

Yes I am leaving toward the Nuvo 20 especially because I have two of these LEDs that are 165w and I think one would do the trick

What add ons are a must and where is the best place to get them. $200 for the tank is pretty awesome

One should be more than enough. Another nice thing about the nuvo tanks is that innovative marine makes a lot of products to specifically fit the fusion line of tanks. Skimmers, reactors, media baskets, etc.

Ditch the stock baskets they come with and either go with a reactor or pick up a media basket from intank or innovative marine makes an upgraded media basket but I can't speak for it as I run the intank basket and like it. The ghost skimmer or the tunze comline 9001 are popular choices for these tanks but do some research as I'm not sure if the tunze will fit in the 20g.

Marine depot is a great place to get innovative marine products and they are a sponsor here. Bulk reef supply is also a good choice. Customer service from either one is top notch. Can't go wrong with either one really. Shop around though and you might find some deals.

Thanks! Yeah BRS doesn't sell just the tank, kind of odd. I have a local store looking for me if not then I'll orders from marine depot
