The Undertow is what keeps everything suspended instead of laying there and rotting, One of the great features of the MP40's IMO

The wavebox draws water into the box and then drops is, using hydraulic pressure to create a wave. The vortech uses pulses to generate energy that builds up to a wave. So essentially the waves are similar, but created in different fashions. The undertow that kevan is referring to is created by the quick pulses. The wavebox is a more smooth motion.
