Hi there, I recently started a nanochloropsis culture and while researching the culture under a microscope I discovered intruders. Do you have any idea if they are good or bad?

Should be removed?
How ?
Thank you !

Really nice videos!

Any intruders are bad.. your culture is beyond hope - you need to find a new fresh batch..

..just to add - I started my Tetraselmis culture in January 2021, it's been a year since that culture started to produce phyto and it's still going strong..

Tetraselmis i better than Nanochloropsis in my opinion and is somewhat easier to culture.

Yes, you can find the best solution by yourself, because there is always a solution to the problem.
Given that the size of the invaders is much larger than that of algae, in this case the solution comes by mechanical filtration. There are 50 micron drinking water filters on the market (very cheap) that hold back invaders and allow Nanochloropsis to pass through. Repeated filtering is needed to eliminate adult and juvenile invaders. Statement verified microscopically by me ;).

Ha ha good choice of music in video.
Have no clue how to eradicate the " invaders" but seems you applied logic to work it out or googled it,one of the other ^_^
