So I'm looking at a naoko fairy wrasse at my LFS and it's a gorgeous fish. I was initially thrilled to find that the sites selling them claim them as peaceful, but further research has shown that they are rather aggressive. I have a 34g system, with a helfrichi firefish, midas blend, and a Carpenter flasher. The naoko is currently about the same size as everyone else. But I'm worried about it bullying the others to death. In particular the flasher wrasse as it most closely resembles the naoko. Any wrasse gurus want to chime in?

Not a guru, but I'm thinkin' that a Naoko's and a flasher in a 34 isn't going to end well. Flashers can kind of be pushovers . . .

Possibly another species of flasher, a Lubbock's - or better a pink-streaked or possum wrasse, which utilize the aquascape very differently from the flasher.

For sure in a tank of this size; this won't work.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking. I had hoped that aggression would be mostly limited to those in the same complex and that it might work out. Real shame with how gorgeous it is.
