My tank is only about 2 months old. Added a Naso about a week and a half ago. He never really seemed right. He’s eating still but been very picky. He also hides a lot, but the last 2 day has come to the glass more. He’s had white stress spots on him ever since I got him, figured they’d go away but then got concerned yesterday when it seemed like he was breathing more rapidly. Then this evening I came home and he has dark spots on both sides of his body. It looks like his scales are damaged. I haven’t noticed him rubbing himself on rocks, but he has been following the cleaner shrimp a lot. He seems to be going down hill. Any advice would be much appreciated for this newbie.

Eating nori, pellets and frozen mysis (although I thought he would be eating more) still chasing food though. He will do random fast swim behavior periodically

Tank mates are small clown fish and yellow watchman goby. Hermits, cleaner shrimp and pistol shrimp

Nitrate, ammonia and nitrites 0

Looks like a skin irritation with mucus plugs possibly mixed with ich. if this is a newer tank, not a good first fish hence skin irritations with changing water conditions. You will need to quarantine this fish in a separate tank and treat with coppersafe at treatment level 2.25 for 30 days. In many cases, other fish if any will not show signs but keep an eye on them. Monitor copper level a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.

What other fish are in with?

This scale damage could be from tankmate aggression or flukes. The posturing for the cleaner shrimp points to flukes.
