I was looking at getting a juvenile Naso tang, but have heard they can be hard to care for at times. As in they can be hard to get eating, but once you do they are really hardy fish. Is that true? What are yalls experience with them? I have also heard from people is that everyone that they got ate every time and became healthy fish and have rated them as really easy fish that beginners could get them and have no issue.

I've never had any issues with them eating...getting one that is fat and healthy is sometimes a problem. They need a good amount of seaweed like other tangs as their main diet source...on the other hand you have to QT all tangs IMO because they are Ich magnets.

Okay good to know. I have plenty of seaweed to use so it shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the feedback

They also can be very skittish at first and they grow very quickly. A tiny Blonde outgrew my 5-foot 150 gal in less than 3 years.

They can be stubborn at first. Yes, get a fatty and it will liken your chance of survival especially if you're going to QT them and feed minimally

They're fragile for the first month or two, and the smaller they are the more fragile they are. They're quite susceptible to disease during this timeframe. They can prove difficult to start feeding, especially in this first month or two.

It's also true that once established, they're VERY hardy animals.
