I was wondering if like many of the other tangs are these fish very susceptible to ich and other parasites?

Yes, all tangs are pretty susceptible. Tangs don't produce as thick of a slime coat as other groups of fish.

I guess what I mean is like powder blues and blue tangs get ich by just feeding them (sarcasm). I guess are they as bad as them? Yellow tangs and such seem to be hardier and don't get ich as easy as say the ones listed above. So, I guess do they get ich as easy as blue tangs or are they more resistant like the yellow tangs?

If you don't introduce them to parasites they won't get them. This is one fish you shouldn't skip the quarantine with along with a freshwater dip. In 15 years I've never had a fish get ich. part of it may be luck but I've got a tank full of fish 10-15 years old

They are not as prone as powder blues, but n par with yellows.

The only thing I know about that fish for sure is they may not eat for 2 or 3 weeks so don't panic

They can contest parasites, viruses, and bacterial infections. Check out my QT thread about my blonde naso. I am learning a lot as I QT that fish thanks to @Humblefish and one other fellow reefer.

Acanthurus (exs. Powder Blue, Achilles) have the thinnest slime coat and thus are the most susceptible to external parasites; whereas Zebrasoma (ex. Yellow Tang) are much more resistant. If I had to rate them, I'd put Naso (genus) somewhere in the middle between those two.

Thanks humblefish. I ended up getting a baby blonde Naso tang. It's only 2 inches if that awesome fish. The yellow tang is bossing him around right now just to show who's boss. Oh and he's eating day one sort of. Took just a couple bites but it's something. Has been eating the algae though so it's something.
