So here is my Naso in QT. I just had a problem where temp dipped to 60 degrees overnight but getting that under control. But here is pics of the white blotches. Some say stress some said bacterial but now I see some on tail so really unsure. Can you help identify. Just got him a week ago and had the blotches from beginning

Also. I have a hippo melanurus wrasse and a acclimated black molly in there and they show no signs whatsoever. If I do need to do copper. Should I get temp normalized first then medicate?

Naso tangs tend to exhibit these splotches during stress. Is he displaying any other unusual behavior such as flashing, scratching, hiding an excess amount, etc?

Is he eating?

To clarify none of the spots are raised off the body correct?

Make sure you slowly increase temperature, don't overcorrect to quickly as that will cause more stress.

Thank you so he is doing everything normal. No flashing, scratching at all. Swims nicely, he does seem like a passive eater. Rushes to food eats some but doesn’t keep gobbling down excessively compared to the others. I feed exclusevily frozen. Emerald entree mostly for him with selcon. Should I do anything? Medicate. Let it go etc?

Also spots do not looked raised at all. Even ones on tail look more like he lost the black coloration and just transparent like inner part of tail. I was also thinking netting him caused some of this. Should I feed as the temp raises?

I'd wait just focus on slowly getting the temperature to correct levels. In addition, I would start soaking fish food in selcon and zoecon to help boost his immune system.

Keep a close eye on him over the next week and if things don't improve you can add furan2 + metroplex + kanaplex into the water column of your QT to address the possibility of a bacterial infection.

Thank you so much will do exactly that

I will keep you posted! . Just was looking at them now seem to be doing good! Hopi g it is just stress on tang. Is is more of coloration. Had my powerful reading glasses and don’t see any raised bumps. Really do appreciate answering g so quick.

Absolutely. I believe stress is the culprit here.

So I got temp back up to 75 degrees had it at 79 prior to drop over night. Question is 75 Ia good temp for a QT? I do see range of most things online is 72 to 78. I

Yes 75 degrees is okay... something to consider is if you have power or heater failure the few extra degrees is beneficial for wiggle room...

RAISE TEMP TO 77. PART OF ISSUE IS VITAMIN DEFICIENCY. PLEASE DESCRIBE WHAT YOU FEED TANK.
At minimum, you should be feeding :
- Nori seaweed basted with Garlic
- Spirulina Brine shrimp
- LRS Herbivore diet
- Formula 2 frozen and flake
- Selcon vitamins added to foods
- plankton
- Mysis shrimp

I have been going them emerald entree, PE mysis and Boro sheets. Ben putting selcon with food every other day. Tried the nori sheet but see others rip apart but don’t see the Naso eat it. I will soak in garlic. I have garlic guard Seachem. Will that work?

Garlic guard - YES

So far so good, temp back up to 77 degrees. All in tank look good. Naso still has stress spots but all eating well. The Naso is actually devouring a nori sheet in there now. I can give another update in a week when confirmed all good. Thanks all
