I bought 2 nassarius snails a week ago - they buried themselves in the sand as soon as I got them and not seen them since. Yesterday there was an empty shell laying on the sand and today I have seen one of the snails going along the sand. Do they leave their shells or is the empty shell likely to be my first casualty? Should I remove the shell?

They dont leave their shells. If it's empty, then it's likely a dead snail. Usually you'll see them when feeding, or at night. I see mine mostly at night. You dont really have to remove the shell, it's not hurting anything.
