For a while, I thought I had nassarius babies, they started white and slowly developed brown dashes/streaks like my Nassarius snails...

But now I think they might be Doves because in this picture in particular, it looks like it has a round algae scraping mouth and i know Doves are algae eaters and Nassarius aren't. They're often on my glass, so are my Nassarius, but I've never seen them under sand or doing the zombie thing, just on rocks or glass. I had one, then three, now four. It's been a month or so since I first noticed. They are out and active during the day, not just nocturnally.

I think they might have come in chaeto from my lfs, along with some amphipods and Pineapple sponges. Lots of diversity in that one ball of algae! Anyway, I saw three of them having an orgy today and I suspect I will soon have more if they are Dove (tribble) snails. Not worried much, though, because I like them a lot and have waaaay more film algae than I did before I doubled my lighting on my 40g AIO. I'm just curious.

Looks like a dove snail (Columbellidae), which have large, circular egg cases. I hear Nassarius eggs, which are dust-like, usually do not hatch successfully in captivity.

Thanks! Very helpful, especially while I'm watching for eggs. Haven't seen either type so far, just my quartet of little snail pals, often together.
