I’m hoping someone can help. I had originally thought these are nassarius, but at the rate they reproduce, I am skeptical. I have hundreds that come out when feeding. My original one that hitchhiked in was pretty much pure white. Fast forward a few years and these have striping on them. They all stay very tiny. I have never seen anything bigger than 1/4” or so.
Most people say that nassarius don’t really reproduce in captivity, but I can’t stop these things.

The shell on them are different than the ones I have, haven’t bought any for a while since they always reproduce in my tank.

The original one I just posted. They have developed this stripe over time. Either that or I am noticing it more. Original was almost pure white. I’ve never bought any.

Possibly dove snails or similar , they lay eggs like crazy in my experience but only a few hatch and survive.
If they alive and eating your algea then in my opinion, they helping you out and worth keeping, nothing to worry about

Normally buried, but they all come running and attack any food I put in. Especially frozen mysis. They don’t usually look like they are doing algae cleanup.

Very interesting. I'd love to have a nassarius that repopulates. Right now the only thing that breeds in my tank are bristle worms and astirina stars.
