Nassarius snails havent moved for 3 days

Just added 6 blue legged hermit crabs and 2 nassarius snails to my new cycled tank as a CUC. The hermits are doing amazing but the snails haven't moved since I brought them home. I took them out yesterday to see if they were dead, but they are not. What could it be? Any help os appreciated.

I'm sure others will chime in but my trochus and margarita snails will often not move for days on end. I assume it's because they're full. They also didn't move for quite awhile after I added them. You've determined yours are alive so just keep an eye on them. They could be acclimating to your tank which is what I determined mine were doing when I added them. I think for some creatures there's the initial acclimation we do when we bring them home but once they're in the tank I believe there is further acclimating that goes on. Now that they've been in my tank for about four months I think when they park for a few days it's just because they're full from eating all the algae.

Snails like to contemplate the universe from time to time... Seriously when snails are added to a system they usually need some time to acclimate. I had one Nassarius Snail that didn't move for almost two weeks and looked dead when I put it in. He is still going strong 8 months later. Don't fret if a snail, or even a hermit, becomes inactive. They do it from time to time. Leave them in the tank as removing them to look at them just adds additional stress.

This thread is years old but I just saw my nassarius snail move for the first time since I put it in my tank two weeks ago! I was hoping for some great sand sifting and it was a total bust. Hopefully now that I’ve spotted it, it means it’s planning on moving around a bit!

I remember when I got my first Nass snails they disappeared from the face of the Earth. I looked EVERYWHERE for them- no snail.

Then I got a piece of shrimp and my tank looked like a zombie apocalypse. They chugged around the sand after that.

One snail refused to let go of the shrimp being blown around.
