Hello,
It's been hard to find true nassarius snails in my area lately. Everyone seems to be trying to sell the black onyx ones anywhere I go. So when I saw some big tonga nassarius at my lfs today I got excited and picked up a few. I didnt see any black ones in there, so my fault I let her grab them while I browsed a bit. When I got home and started to acclimate, I noticed two are darker with a slightly different shape shell. Dont exactly look like Onyx, but definitely not Tonga. Maybe Vibex? I'm not too sure. Can anyone help me ID these and tell me if they're safe for my sand bed or if I should try to return them? I've attached pictures. Thanks!

Can u flip the dark ones so i can see the siphon canal the others are def nassarius .

This is a great way to id a whelk...most other nass and conchs have a wide siphon canal whereas the whelks is very narrow.
