Well I guess there's never been a better time than now start a tank thread for myself.
To start let me say that the tank was set up around December 2014. I was 12 then and now as you can guess I'm fourteen. My last 2 Christmases and birthdays have gone almost solely into the tank, and I try to find jobs in the summer to do too.
The tank is just a standard 55 gallon with a 10 gallon sump underneath. The first year that tank was run with a lone hob filter which I am glad i threw out. In the sump there is a skimmer, heater, and some live rock. It disappointed me that I couldn't fit a 20 but o-well. It has the Mars Aqua led lights over top. So yeah, it isn't the most complex system but hey simplicity is key right?

Here is the tank when in its early stages of life
When I was setting up the tank I made two instant mistakes. One was I purchased a saltwater aquarium set up book, this book was very outdated and a lot in the book is somewhat wrong. Two, I took advice, lots of it, from my LFS. I thought back then that they were trust worthy and gullible me believed almost every word they say. I have learned that the owner is good and he owns a reef aquarium. But sadly a majority of the employees aren't. As you can see the air stone in the pic above was a result in something that I bought but didn't need too.
The tank went fairly well for the first few months of 2015. The original clowns where doing great and there were a few loses but not many. Over summer I worked on lawns to get the led lights. By the end of the summer I had a few corals and 2 clowns, starry blenny, coral beauty, and a orange spotted goby. Then that Christmas I transformed the tank from a hob filter to a sump. The transformation turned out great and was super silent.

I'm sorry this is the most up to date pic of it since I just switched phones and I last backed up a month ago. But that way you can get an idea of the rock scape, corals are different and that hob is gone.
Well things were going great until I got 4 chromis. 3 of them died within the week and the 4th came down with ich and died two.
So yep now I have ich. I had never quarantined before and I guess this is the consequence. I set up a quarantine tank and just yesterday I got the remaining fish trapped and transferred. The fish already in the QT were doing good and all eating and acting normal. Well this morning I looked at the tank and fish where covered in ich but still where swimming normaly. I was going to start treatment originally on this day too I figured that the fish would make it until I got home since it wasn't that bad of a case yet. Well here is the sad news now. I get back from school and took the towel off the tank to find the clowns (1.5 year olds)and blenny (1 year old) dead. I've got to admit I shed quite a few tears. The coral beauty and goby where acting fine. I have started treatment and will begin testing soon.

Here is the QT currently

So yep it's been a hard ride lately on this today and the money involved in it all. I had to spend the rest of my Christmas money on the QT instead of a new fish or coral. So I've learned my lesson on that

Anyway in a few hours I will probably post some new fts and coral pics along with some more info. There won't be that much to post while the fish are in QT. So in 70 days I will prob post a lot more on restocking ect

Thanks for reading of you that did. I know it's kind of long and I'm not the best typer :)

Well I said I'd take pics but my iphone camera doesn't work so I'll have to try to take pics with my moms phone
But anyway I have pretty basic corals. Multiple kinds of zoas, kenya tree, hammer, hairy mushroom, GSP, and a brain I'm bringing back from the dead
