Fellow reef keepers, i think i cracked the code for the natural back and forth motion as found in the ocean. Please share your thoughts and ideas. Click here for video

Yes very true, but it took me a while to mimic the ocean rather than having what ive seen as unnatural movement in some aquariumsIsn't that what most people do, using oscillating powerbeads on either side of their tank?
? Im sorry i dont follow.click... bang... click... bump... click... clunk...
Looks like a nice flow pattern, but uh uh. Not in my living room.
? Im sorry i dont follow.
Oh... no that's not normal, that was the trident testing my water. That happens 4 times a day.The noise. The bumping and clicking each time the pumps switch direction. That doesn't bother you?
My goal is to duplicate nature

OK! I was sure that was some controller/pump noise. If the pump oscillation is quiet you should totally share what you're doing it with.Lol... Also to be fair i was literally right next to the trident while recording this.OK! I was sure that was some controller/pump noise. Cannot get the video to play properly - it's in slow motion so of course it looks more natural LOL. That's the inherent problem, wave speed propagation is a function of the dimensions of the space. I've always assumed that our tanks are too small to allow wave propagation that mimics the frequency of the open ocean. I've tried plenty of times and never achieved anything satisfactory. If you've truly 'cracked it' that'd be cool. Maybe you can link a better video so I can judge.
Its not in slow motion lol.... the video was not altered at all. Please watch again see how quickly my fish are moving.Cannot get the video to play properly - it's in slow motion so of course it looks more natural LOL. Thanks its pretty consistent as long as the pumps stay syncedI was able to view at full speed and it seems pretty good, at least at that moment and that specific area of the tank. Curious how replicable and consistent this is.
