Thanks to All whom have added to this Thread, lets keep them coming. I'll post up a few proposed edits to the 2nd and 3rd Posts for a consensus in next few days then start editing in our findings.

Cheers, Todd

Aefw any body? Does any one agree with camel shrimps eating flat worm eggs, or hermit crabs eating eggs at the base of corals. I understand that camel shrimps are not that safe in a reef. Let's get some opinions on this pest.

About four months ago I noticed bite marks of what it seemed to be aefw. Sure enough that's what they were after finding eggs on the base of few of my corals. I also then noticed that I had a good infestation of red bugs. Since I'm against treating the tank with any dewormer this is what I did and so far it's a success. Removed and dipped the infected corals with revive, scraped the eggs and started dosing the zeovit flatworm stop every day with reef booster every other day. I introduced a juvenile lennardi wrasse and to my surprise he cleaned every red bug in my tank. No signs of aefw at all and the three corals I dipped recovered fully. I'm sure about the wrasse cleaning the red bugs cause I watched him do it. I also think he goes after aefw cause he is constantly picking at corals. I am curious if any one had any similar experiences.

Oops, the only thing I've found for hydroxide is cutting away at the rock. I've. Noticed certain damsels. Will eat aefw and red bugs.. And that the more white Flatworms eat. The red and brown ones as well. A few wrasse species mainly the lined wrasses but not exclusive will eat most worms. Peppermints and I've watched camels. Plus aptasia eating nudis. Plus matted file fish and I've seen green file fish all eat aptasia.. I've had chocolate chip. Stars that have wiped out colonies of Majenos.. Thats about my experience with pests!

That is good to know that there are natural defence against aefw and red bugs, then it is definetly possible that my lennardi is also eating aefw cause I have not seen a sign of any for at least a month and a half. Never would have tought that damsels eat aefw that is very interesting. good info

Had twenty odd aips when set up was about eight months old so decided peppermint shrimps as first attempt & just when I thought to try something else I noticed they're numbers were declining. Took them about seven weeks or so but never any since.
Can't remember last time I seen any bristle worm or its ilk since the addition of my two wrasse, a melanarus & a yellow when setup was roughly a year old

I had a small aiptasia outbreak.....maybe 10 or 12 small ones. I ordered 3 berghia from Reefs2go. Only 1 arrived alive. I put it in the tank and my aiptasia was gone in 2 weeks. I was surprised because they said they will only attack brghia in groups. I have also had great success with peppermint shrimp.

Asterina Star fish- All I did was adding a pair of Harlequin Shrimps and ever star fish ran to the glass. It was the most fascinating thing. After the star fish are gone then I keep em alive by adding star fish as food. They do keep a tank clean from Asterina Star fish.
My wrasses ate mine.

Here's my EXPERIENCE WITH ICK !!!!! i swaer by this natural product called ginger gingerale , natural herbal, jusy put all it'll un the tank and a little in the fish food and wala , ick gone, just keep using untill fish build a stronger emunue system with ginger, thank me later ;)

I has two clowns that only last me 2 days. They were babies . The word around town is that a local breeder used by my LFS had a bunch of sick fish from a holding rubber made tub that was long passed needing to be replaced. My gut is that it was marine velvet but one LFS says it was clown fish disease . Unfortunately the pics I took had my lesds on blue so it's not a gear pic to look at. There was no skin sores present, reason why I think it was velvet. Is Brook considered "clown fish disease"?

I had a serious AIPTASIA issue, bought the MAJANO WAND, it works just like advertised but it still requires many man hours for a big issue so I bought this Fine young AIPTASIA Disposal home and has all but been eradicated
Them.. Been in my tank for 3 months and eats live food. Hopefully it will be fine I have read many stories about dying from lack of food

From my understanding it's an anemone fish disease so also including damsels from what I know.
But from my experience from what Im looking at from the photo. it looks like brooklynella but Marine velvet Also does this to the surface of the skin.
Also was your fish just standing still breathing heavy? And how long did you notice him with the Condition? and how long before he passed?

Hello, I'am a newbie here and found this thread to have a lot of good information. Thanks
My tank is a 150 gallon with fish, a few corals and about 150 lbs of LR. I also have a 30 gallon refugium
I do have a small issue with some random green hair algae patches. It's not long hair or really taking over the tank and it pretty much came out of now where. I thought perhaps the lights were needing to be replaced as they were getting close to a year old. (T5's) so I replaced them then went thru a 3 day lights off session which helped a bit but not fully. I have been watching my feeding amounts also. I have added about 100 red leg hermits and about 100 cerith (?) thinking they would help. This stuff is more of a nuisance than anything, I have cleaned the powerheads and some of the rock that it's growing on when I do water changes thinking that'd do it in. But noo.
So here I am looking for ideas, TIA for any offered help.
