Hi all,
Just wanted to share with you my recent experience using natural sea water in my reef aquarium. This was a new concept to me, and I was told about it by a friend and fellow reef keeper who absolutely swears by it.
So I recently upgraded my tank and was thinking how can I fill this new beast with water quickly and efficiently, so I reached out to this company my friend had recommended to me. Sure enough, a few days later there is a van full of natural sea water being pumped through my window and in to my tank. 5 minutes and 140 gallons later the tank is full and ready to be heated.
Some time passes and now I've moved all my live rock, some substrate to seed the new live sand a bit further, and later my corals. Honestly, I'm super impressed. My corals have never looked healthier, lps corals have extended further, sps corals are already showing better coloration and new growth.
Tested all the parameters of the water when it arrived and regularly since and everything is spot on.
No more lugging heavy canisters around, no more mixing salt and RO water, and so far great results.
Has anybody else used or considered using natural sea water? Anybody had any negative experiences?
Also happy to answer any questions people might have
