Natural Zoa propagation and relocation?

So just a few minutes ago I notice this

If you look between the barnacle and rock at the sand base you'll see a single zoa polyp. Here's a zoomed out view for idea of size and local.

I didn't know that these guy could reproduce away from the main colony. While info have multiple colonies in the tank, the closest is easily over a foot away and the majority are clear on the other side of the tank. Has anyone else had this happen or heard of it before?
 
My colonies will drop off polyps and they float around and land somewhere and start a new mini colony. Seems normal to me
