Nature's Ocean Dry Rock Reviews?

Has anyone used Nature's Ocean dry rock from Amazon? I got 40lbs for $55 which is the best deal I have seen. Came in looking virtually identical to rock I have gotten from Reef Cleaners (they were out of stock this time).

I have been soaking in RO water for a week and today dumped the water to put a fresh batch of water in and found that the inside of the garbage can below water had a very slick oily feel to it. Is that normal? Has anyone used this long term? Thanks!

Yes, I've had it in my 90 for about a year and a half. I powerwashed mine and dried it out again. Washed it again and then placed it into the new tank. Allowed the tank and sand mixed with a bit of live sand to cycle for 76 days.
Yes, when it was wet it had a bit of a slippery feel to it when I was sculpting the rock into the shapes I wanted in the tank.

Ok, xool so you have been successful using it? No mysterious algae issues?

Nothing mysterious, just the usual "new tank" syndrome stuff: blooms, hair algae, etc. as the tank's chemistry changed and adjusted. Lots of work compared to buying "live rock" doing all the clean up and water changes. LOL. But I did not want unwanted bugs, parasites, etc. in my tank. I QT everything: corals, fish, inverts - everything. So I was willing to put up with the dry rock startup work.

I'm using it. No problems encountered and no PO4 issues. I ended up buying several of their 40lb boxes. Pretty much looks just like their pictures and most of the rocks are big. To give you an idea I got one box that had 4 smaller rocks, while all the others had only 2 rocks per box. Most of the rocks are 12" or larger.

Top gear top tip: buy the Amazon warehouse version. They are likely returned because the exterior box is damaged. Save $5, maybe you will need the chisel less. Also, select to have the packaging hidden and you get an extra box layer to make sure it arrives okay.

Rinsed with a garden hose and into the tank. I initially ran some GFO thinking it might leach PO4, but it wasn't, so I pulled the GFO.

If it was "dry" rock you wasn't supposed to rinse it
