Hiya all, cycle done! - fish time lol 230Litre tank - 4ft long with aragonite substrate

im looking for confirmations / rejections on the following please - not all to be added together etc

2 ocellaris clowns
1 yellow tang
1 regal tang
1 copperband butterfly
3-5 anthias

the 2 clowns first ( i have young kids and wether i like it or not disney/pixar gets a look in!) will glady look at alternatives or order of stocking etc please - i was assuming that i would be almost full at that - love the look of fire fish tho.

corals will be mainly softies and lps while i gain experience here
thanks all for your time

Looks to be a good starting list to me. I would hold off on the anthias as they will generally require more stable parameters that come with time.

the copperband is the only one on the list thats for me but ive heard they arent easy keepers and arent particularly reef safe?

I have two fish that are "Reef Cation" also, (Harlequin Tusk and Coral Beauty). Sometimes you just have to go with what you like and wish for the best. Butterflies are really cool looking fish, hopefully everything works out.

A cooperband butterfly is a picky fish. If you can find one that eats frozen, your chances of success will be higher. A regal tang needs a 6 foot tank. 180 gallons preferably. Everything else looks good.

+1 on not being a large enough tank for the tangs. Maybe a Kole would be ok

Thanks for the input all, as can be seen im new to SW. so if i can throw this out again with changes

these are in:
2x clowns
1 x yellow tail blue damsel ( officially known as baby dory - which negates the childrens desire for a regal)

these are desired:
fire fish
royal gramma
Long nose butterfly
yellow tang ( tank is 4ft long and all rock is central so all 4 sides are free for swimming lengths)
Anthias
flame angel
banner fish ( wife wants a moorish - but we are poorish!) (looking for suggestion of similar to suit our tank for size)

are there any here that should go in last? or any to get in earlier? ( noted comment earlier about anthias and stable params)
these will be added slow and steady, just trying to plan as best can so as to offer the family so expectations / hope etc

looking at keeping mainly softies with the fish initially - would i be right in saying the flame angel likes to munch?

I would not put in the firefish. They tend to be very shy and easily bullied. The damsel will bully it and you will never see it, especially since the damsel is already in. I have a royal gramma and while they are beautiful they can be little jerks sometimes and protective over their space. It would work well with the damsel and clowns though, much better than the firefish. I would not get a yellow tang in a tank that size unless you made a deal with either another local reefer or LFS to take it in in when it outgrew your tank. If you don't want to give the tang away, look into the bristletooth tangs. Maybe not as flashy but still fun to watch and are workhorses when it comes to algae removal. I have a soft spot for the kole tang. They can also be a little pushy sometimes but since you're going with a mostly semi-aggressive tank that would be fine. Anthias need a larger tank to be kept in groups 125+ gallons usually. They like to swim and are a big add to the bioload since they require multiple small feedings. You could add 1 if you wanted to but I would look into wrasses before anthias. The flame angel definitely has the potential to munch and it might not at first but it could down the road. Something to watch for at least. They are beautiful fish. I don't have any experience with the butterfly or bannerfish so I can't advise but checking liveaquaria.com and reading their recommendations is a good place to start.

Thanks very much for this advice and is exactly what i was looking for - thanks for taking the time

I have 2 clowns, a purple Fire Fish and a Royal Gramma. The Royal is a not of a loner and doesn’t bother anyone and is left alone by everyone in the tank. My Fire Fish is chases often by my female Clown. I’ve thought about taking the female clown out and reintroducing her to the tank since the Fire Fish was added after the clown pair. It’s not a priority right now since the chasing isn’t to the point of the Fire Fish not coming out from his cave. He’ll retreat on occasion, for a few minutes, then return front and center.

I wouldn’t say don’t add the Fire Fish as I love having one in my tank.
