Ever since I took my skimmer apart for cleaning last week my neck cleaner has been doing this

I can't figure out what the problem is, everything seems to be in place and it's never done this before. Has anyone had this issue or have any ideas what the problem could be?

The might be a O ring not seated right or missing.

That's what I thought at first too, but I've taken it apart and it's still having the same issue. I am hoping I am just having a blonde moment and missing something lol. I am going to disassemble again after the kiddo goes to bed.

Nahh, we all do it. Hopefully it is something very simple as just reseating the unit.

Take out the o ring and flip it over unless it is a glued in a slot kind of o ring.

If it is glued then scrub it with a toothbrush and see if it might have some funk keeping it from seating

Well I didn't get a chance to check out the neck cleaner again last night. I noticed my geometric hawkish in the nano was acting odd and my corals all looked like crap last night. They looked great an hour before so I thought my son had put something in the tank while I was doing dishes. I rushed to do a WC and when I stuck my hand in the tank it was BOILING! The heater must have gotten stuck on (which sucks because it was new) and the tank was 90 degrees! In the end I lost my favorite fish and coral in that tank, the hawk and a golden hammer.:( I guess that isn't as bad as it could have been, but after rushing to bring the temp down and doing fish CPR, I did not look at the skimmer. I guess I'd better look into a controller for this tank too. I suppose I can always upgrade the reef keeper on the 90 and bring that to the red sea tank. It never ends;Sour

I never did figure out the issue, the O ring looks perfect, everything is in place so idk. I am waiting for a response from reef octopus to see if they can give me some guidance. I have the original lid on for now so that the skimmer isn't immediately throwing everything back into the tank.

check your collection line to the remote reservoir to see if it is plugged or the vent line from the remote reservoir

Have you just started using bio pellets?

Nope, but I did start using water changes after 6 months of neglect lol.

I know the collection line doesn't have a blockage, but you may be on to something with the vent, I have not checked that. I will do so after I get back home this afternoon.
