8 month old 32 gallon biocube

Looking to add a fish with some color

Current inhabitants: yellow tail damsel, six line wrasse, chalk bass, cleaner shrimp, cleanup crew, about 40lbs of live rock, several soft corals too.

For the life of me, I cannot keep a royal gramma or clownfish alive.

Thank you.

Sixlines can be assassin’s. Could be it is taking out any new inhabitants. Also you are fairly well stocked for water column fish. A bottom goby may be your best bet

Royal Gramma + Chalk Bass = aggression
Six line wrasse = aggression
Yellowtail Damsel = aggression
Clown fish = aggression

You have some pretty aggressive fish already. It is going to be tough to add more fish at this point, especially with the cube format. I had a 32 biocube, and I found that the shape of the tank stacks the fish on top of each other and leads to... aggression.

I have a Biocube 32, I keep 7 fish in it and it’s a peaceful tank. 2 clown fish, yellow coris wrasse, diamond watchman goby, yellow tail damsel, royal gramma and a tail spot blenny. The yellow cori wrasse just replaced my Sixline wrasse that just last week died, I believe of old age. Never had problems.

Agree, we all hear about fish that are supposed to be reef safe and aren’t and fish that are supposed to be non reef safe and are. Same with aggressive and passive fish. All are individuals.

Ya I took that in account i was saving for a 5 foot tank that I planned to buy this Black Friday, they had a great sale last year, then my daughter got engaged. My wife had to pick me up off the floor after telling me our financial responsibility for the wedding. My upgrade savings became wedding savings. Black Friday 2025 it will be then.
