Need a game plan on how to deal with this algae

Here is my tank story. My live rock was completely over grown with Green Hairy mushrooms and other mushroom varieties. I decided to do some cleaning up, and now I have an algae outbreak. I removed several of the live rocks and scrubbed the mushrooms off. I know this probably caused excess nutrients. My test kit was measuring zero phosphate but I figured it was not very accurate. I purchased a low range Phosphate Hanna test kit. My phosphate measured .02, My Ph is 8.25,  alk 11dkh, Calcium 420ppm,salinity 1.025 using refractometer. I also purchased a BRS media reactor and just started using a mix of GFO and carbon. It has only been running for one day. Most of my coral seems to be ok with the exception of a few newer frags which seem to be losing flesh and closed up tight. My tank has been setup for 15+ years and has been pretty much trouble free. My lighting is an ATI sunpower 6x39w t5. My lighting was over a year old and I have changed the bulbs out over the last couple of days. I'm totally stumped at this point and really don't know how to tackle this algae problem. I added a couple of pics as I'm not to sure on what type of algae this is. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention I'm using RO/DI water with 0 TDS, all filters are less than 3 months old.

Look like dino.From what i heard is people use tech m mag and slowly raise it up to 1600 to combat it.Some use ho2o.

It looks like cyanobacteria but it also resembles dinos. If you suction it off does it come back just as badly the next day? And always with bubbles? If so, it could be dinos which are a real PAIN.

Not sure how you feel about adding chemicals to your tank but to see if it's cyano or dinos, you can add Chemiclean. If the Chemiclean takes care of it, then it was cyano and you just need to get your parameters in order to stop it from coming back. If the Chemiclean doesn't touch it, then it's probably dinos.

I had dinos (dinoflagellate) and they are a PAIN to get rid of. I had them and it almost caused me to tear my tank down and fill it full of guppies. I tried blackouts, water changes, and a million other things. I finally kicked them by raising my Mg to about 1500, running carbon and 2x week 10% water changes once they started to fade.

I'm pretty sure its not Cyano. I had that years ago when I first set up tank. I think you guys might have helped me. Last time I tested Mag. it was a little low, around 1100ppm. I will get some mag and start dosing that.

After a little bit of reading, I see that Kent Tech M is the only thing that gets rid of algae, not by simply raising Magnesium. The impurities in Tech M are what kills the algae. I just tested Mag again and I'm reading 1100ppm. Still not sure what to do. I guess one option is to dose Kent Tech M. to 1600ppm and see what happens. Any other ideas?
