Need a ID in the crab

i can never catch this guy or get a picture but I think I got one and the question is should I take him out or leave him he is so cool looking and very purple

I'm thinking you have a baby Menippe mercenaria. Won't stay purple and not sure how cool it will seem when your fish are on his menu.

You could grow him up and have some steamed crab claws lol. All kidding aside I think a few people have them in species tanks so maybe you can find it a home.

I could take him down to the store but I would probably inturduce him to my garbage disposal
