Brad....have u tried manually removing the algae from the pump and anywhere else it is? Sorry, can't help you with what that is, but I would prolly try to remove it and see if it comes back....good luck and if ya need anything let me know....like a beer or somethin!!!!

Lol. Thanks Conan. It only comes off if you scrape it. It's not a rooted structure like HA, stays short and tuff.

I think I'm getting the same thing. It goes on the glass also. It's in my 20 but not my 75 but they share a sump. Have no idea what it is

So it is naturally a turf type of algae?

What color?

Is anything eating it to keep it as a turf rather than long strands?
I'd have to say it's a turf. Tangs and Foxface do not pick at it. It always stays short. I only have 2 astrea snails but they don't touch it. I haven't got more in my cuc because I want to combat this not bandaid it.
I'd say it's medium brown. Not slimy.
Btw also vinegar dosing currently in week 4.

I haven't had it on glass, just everything else structure like. Even on coraline. My 50g fuge that shares the same sump is getting it on the back wall now too

Lyngbya maybe? I'm gonna try to get a closer shot tonight

very interested in the ID....I have a similar thing going on in my tank - I'm deducing that it's cyano but could be wrong. If it is Lyngbya - how does one get rid of it?

My tuxedo does what no snail could ever do and he is a work horse.

I'm liking the tuxedo and the pink pincushion. Looking now for a sale and site, lol

More pics and a attempt to KO it! Pulled about roughly 1/2 gallon of DT water out. Took these pics in the pitcher. Pic is close and full frame with cell. Dosing .5mL of expired h2o2 and waiting 15 minutes.

Lol. I'm testing it but might start dosing it. I've done it before for dinos.

Update: pump cage had a few bubbles but not really what I wanted (probably cause it is expired h2o2). Using the same water, back of pump is in 10mL.
