Hi guys well I'm looking to purchase a lid for my tank or potentially a diy, I have lost two fish now in a short period of time due to my rimless tank and I would like the comfort of my cats not being able to be nosy around it. I currently have a Fluval m90 any thoughts out there or know if a sturdy lid I can purchase?

I am in the process of building a 1x6 lid for my M40 I'll show pics once I'm done

Bulk reef supply has netting kits may not stop a cat but it'll stop a fish and preserve your rimless look

I've seen those before but was wondering what other people do to keep cats away.

I'm probably not the best person to ask that of, my answer would be BB gun and good aim don't hit the tank lol

It is in my spare bedroom at the moment and I always keep the door shut so cats can't get in room but I am moving and I want the tank out in my living room for better show. My luck I would miss and hit the tank lol

Artfully Acrylic's tops are awesome. I have one over my CL 70G Artisan II and it fits like a glove. Well worth the $$, very solid.

Okay I'm going to take your word for it and order one.

You'll be very pleased, I know I am with mine. I would recommend getting the feed door, it makes feeding your tank and adding elements much easier;)

I was planning on it do you have the standard feed door our the locking feed door? I will need one since I have the Neptune atf.

I have the standard door which works out very well. It stays pretty secure and I've even had my wrasses hit it before and they didn't move it. It's pretty heavy acrylic.

Just ask yourself which you like more. The gentle, beautiful fish or the animal who would have no about qualms eating your body if in such a position.

Another vote for Artfully Acrylic. I'll be ordering one for my new tank soon. Nice stuff.

Even if the cat wasn't a problem, jumping fish _are_. I tried going topless on my cube, lost 3 fish to carpet surfing, and none of them were 'known jumpers'. One was an ORA snowflake clown! No more topless for me. I _love_ the look, but it's not worth the risk.

When you figure the costs of fish these days, it's an inexpensive proposition.:)

Now you can have the best of both worlds!:D
