Need a lil skimmer! Help me choose

Ok, this is my new 12x12x12 cube. Got a kessil a80 and some live sand and going to be stealing a lil rock from my 20 long and 35 cube. I want to find a small skimmer for this 7.5 gallon tank. Any suggestions? I might be limited to a internal one, but hope to find a hob one small enough. Im using a nano rio on my 35 cube and love it. But on this tiny cube it wouldnt look nice.

what about a reef glass skimmer? very small and compact internal skimmer..

Hear me out....do you need one?
I run HOB filters on anything smaller than 20 gal. Never have an issue.
BUT I do have an eshopps nano for my 25 gal.

I would just do partial water changes... it would be better than a nano skimmer since most nano skimmer are inefficient just my opinion tho.

I dont necessarily agree with that but I can see why. I had a 25 gallon heavily stocked and it wasnt doing lowering nitrates by much until I added a nitrate reactor to it.

I agree it all depends on your stocking and feeding rates. For most partial water changes would be sufficient tho.

Hmm, i would definitely do 1 gallon water changes weekly,i only do a 2 1/2 gallon water change weekly in my 35 cube. But it has a skimmer. I will think this out. So, just a hob filter so i could put chemi pure elite in it huh?

I run one of the coralife biocube skimmers on my 16 gallon. Now if it really makes a difference or not is another debate. I'm a firm believer that it can't hurt? So why not. Better safe than sorry. It wont replace the need for water changes by any means, but it will still help if you miss one or something happens.

Yeah, i was told long ago and still believe that a small skimmer or "cheap" skimmer is better than no skimmer at all. Im still debating.

Aquatic life mini 115 was a good skimmer for my 10 gallon. It's an internal and takes up some room though

For about $10 you can make one of these. I use it on my 6 gal. and it works great.

With that bio cube filter, is it getting waste out? Dirty water in cup?

Yep, doesn't produce as much skim as I would think is in the water, but like I said, it's just there to help.

Premium aquatics sells it not sure on the manufacturer, but theres pretty good reviews
