I seem to be having issues with green in zoa's and shrooms becoming dark. It's my understanding it could be a low iron issue. I bought Red Sea Coral colors program, but I'm not sure how much to dose.

System:

250 gallons
Lighting: 3 Radion G3's - was running coral labs program, just switched to a tweaked High Growth Program

Reactors: Biopellets, ROWAPHOS and calcium (hooked up about two months ago)
I made another post about this, but I am having issues with a Co2 scrubber. The media turns purple in less then two days. Normal system PH: 8.0-8.1

Skimmer: E-Shopps New S-300 Premiere line

Params:

Salinity 1.025 - refractometer

ALK: 8.4-8.8
Calcium: 500
MAG: 1260 API, 1600 Red Sea - My red sea MAG kit is off I think. It always registers 1600, but other kits do not.

Phos: .04 Red Sea Kit
Nitrates: 5 Red Sea kit

I like your thinking, I was having issues and started dosing the colors and had decent success. I switch to the full balling method link with has mineral salts plus potassium, iron, and a couple other elements and my colors really took off.

I was dosing about 10ml a week for a 80gal system with the color system. I like the balling for the reason of everything is dosed equally based off of alk consumption so no over dosing;).

I actually use the Red Sea supplements. It has produced good results. The dosing method is about 1ml per 20ml of calcium dosing. You can always dose a little less to be on the safe side. Am interested in the balling method. Will definitely review that.

Being I use a calcium reactor, I don't dose, so I have no idea how I could dose coral colors based on that.

I'm quite sure there is a way to determine how much calcium your reactor is providing to your tank. Unfortunately, I do not know the equation. :(

If your on a ca reactor your dosing pretty much evreything a coral has eaten.

Although your running a color program on your lights. Do you know what the par is?

No, I don't have a PAR meter, but I switched to the Ecotech High Growth program today and I've already notice the coral seems perkier.
