Need a New Skimmer Pump

My EuroReef skimmer came with a Sicce PSK pump. In cleaning it yesterday I noted that the electric cord is cracked at the pump body. It also has been noise from the time I purchased it new. It's time to get a new one. I tried my LFS and they wanted me to get a Sedra 3500. I've heard stories that these start out quiet, but after several months get noisy. I'd love to get an Eheim, but they are just too expensive. The skimmer is rated at 120 gallons. I can't recall the model of the skimmer pump. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can use that will be cost effective and quiet?

I don't know the model of the pump, but a friend of mine has a Eco plus, w/needle impeller and Venturi on hers. You can get the from a sunlight supply dealer.
