I have a 150g sps dominated reef and i am looking for the quietest skimmer for it. I currently have a Super Reef Octopus XP2000I and I am looking to replace it with a quieter skimmer. Looking for the quietest skimmer available. Let me know your thoughts.

I used a bubble magus curve 5 on my 75reef..you would have to put your ear on the skimmer to hear it running. So my vote is for the bubble magus :D you would need a bigger one though lol.

I have been very happy with the new Vertex Omega , much quieter than my buddies reef octopus. I have it on a 150 sps tank

I am running a BM Curve 7 on my 75. Little over kill, but totally silent. My new Tank (Elos XL 160 / 200 gal ) I'm running a Skimz DC Leopard SL 183. Also silent, and gotta say the DC motor is a awesome feature.

I have a cad also amazing simmer super silent

try a CADlight Skimmer I have the pipettes very very quite ! it's in my leaving room

What do you consider loud about your Reef Octo SRO? I've installed a few and consider the pump pretty quiet, although the water output can be silenced better with a quick, cheap mod. I run a Reef Octo POV and the Diablo DC pump is absolutely silent.

A week ago I purchased the rlss 6i for my 90 gallon sps tank and that sucker is real quiet when I turned it on I thought t was broke until I saw the bubbles in the skimmer and it is working great to

I have a JNS SK2 on my 90 gallon and it works great and is slent. Rated for up to 300 gallons too.

I have an Aquamaxx EM200 skimmer and not only is it dead silent(I can barely hear it with the return pump turned off) it is a skimming beast!!! The EM200 would be a perfect size for your system as its rated to 240gal. Not to mention its alot easier on your wallet than some of the "higher end" skimmers for its size and capability.

I have a Bubble Magnus NAC 7 on my 75g it's very quiet.

another vote for BM here.. I have a curve 5 and it's dead silent.. pulls gunk well too..

now that mag 7 on the other hand, that's about to get thrown out the window..

the drone of the bubble blaster pump is loud in the quiet house
Ah, yeah they do have a noticeable hum to them. I can tell you with all confidence that the Pro Open Volute series from Reef Octo are the quietest skimmers I've ever encountered, by far. You can only tell they're on by looking at the bubbles.

Eshopps probably one of the quietest but there are mods one can do to muffle their skimmers
