Need a supplement to rotifers

I have a batch of Clarkii eggs that are about to hatch, I ordered rotifers right after my broodstock laid them. However, the cold weather has delayed their shipment and I am not supposed to get them until the day the eggs are expected to hatch. I need to know if copepods will work as food for the larvae since my LFS sells them.

Rotifers are tiny! You may have some luck if your LFS sells tisbe or parvo copepods. Tiger copepods are way to large.

I don't know if larval clowns will take them, but Golden Pearls are a very good quality rotifer replacement. They ship dry and can be had quickly and cheaply from Amazon. Might be worth a try if no better options present themselves. These are widely used by killifish keepers for the smaller and more difficult species...

The issue is two fold. You need something small enough to fit in their mouths AND it also need to move. Clown fry are basically blind and almost need to run into their food at the start of their life (first 4-7 days). The motion of the live rotifers aid in the clowns being able to identify them as a food item. Once you get to the 7 day mark you can start feeding newly hatched brine shrimp.
