We just lost our beloved Chocolate Lab. Only thing tying us down now is aquarium. Can someone tell me what food they use in auto feeder. I'm also wondering for a week or so should I remove socks or leave them in? Any help would be appreciated. Just want to run away from this pain.

Pellets and flakes. Do u have a Neptune apex

Personally I use the neptunes pellets with the Apex Autofeeder. Other foods work but Apex designed a pellet specifically for there feeder, and the fish seem to love it. I have had problems with feeding inconsistant amounts of non Apex pellets.

I have used the ehiem for pellets that are round. My auto feeder has an adjustable opening to lessen food quantity. I test it out over a plate to see how much food comes out and set it for once a day. I would say a week is ok for the filter socks, considering how bad you want to leave. I felt the same way a few months ago.

Good luck, and feel better
