Theyre doing great-I keep the reef at 78, sometimes it goes up to 80 though on the warm days.
Theyve been in there for at least 4 months-I still see them scouring the glass at night. All the bryopsis is gone so I leave the sides alone and only scrape the front glass.
Ive heard the same about margarita snails but Ive had one in my frag tank through an 82 degree spike AND and ammonia spike LOL Hes still going at 7 months-he was in my older tank before he got put into the frag system.
I couldnt be happier with the cowries, other than the buildup of film algae on the glass every week, I dont have a spec of algae in that tank Its a 25 gal AIO and I only have 2 astreas, a hermit, and a brittle star for CUC besides them.

The info you get is all about where you look, (not that LA isnt reputable) aquatic community has it from 72-78 degrees.
It was my last resort for bryopsis and its worked SO well. When my LFS stocks them again (only once a year I guess they have their own seasons...) Ill buy one for the frag tank and one for the nem tank.

If you have an established tank, go for it.
Dont do it with a new tank-the die off nuked my system because the biological filter/bacteria werent able to handle the ammonia.
