I want to build a frag tank but I have an AIO tank that I can not drill and the overflow boxes out there do not fit in the back. So I was thinking about make a 20 gallon long AIO frag tank. I have a light fixture that is 24" where the tak is 30" long. So I was going to put a false wall 6" from the side making the "display" part 24". Now I will not run the tank with a skimmer at first because I do not have an extra one. I will only be fraggin zoas and lps because that is all I have in my main tank. If I put rubble and cheato in the false wall side will that be enough to keep the levels right? In the display tank I might but maybe a couple pieces of rock but not alot and probably not any sand. Will this work? If not what can I change?

yes that will work only if you dont have that much stuff. but if your fragging alot every day than you will need a skimmer.

probably not a lot will be fragged that often. It will be mostly be more of my own grow out. My tank is coming up to about 8 months old and half of my zoas have grown off the frag plugs and I am taking the plugs off the rocks and just letting the zoas on the rocks grow. I have a little frag rack in the tank but it is getting full. Just want them out of the tank and grow some more so I can get ew stuff when I trade or sell them. At most maybe frag 10 things a month. I guess if it gets more the that I will have to get a HOB Skimmer.
