Need advice on 12 gal nano cube lighting

I just bought a 12 gal jbj nano and it doesn't have the hood on it (I prefer it that way). I'm looking at different lighting options for it but only ones that won't break the bank. So far I've come up with a DIY LED Kit from aquastyleonline, or a JBJ K2 viper clamp MH light. I can DIY the LEDs but my issue is how to mount it. I don't think I want to hang lights from the ceiling and I also don't like DIY LEDs with the drivers and wires all exposed.

With all of that written, My ideal scenario is to find a clamp on light fixture either LED or MH that isn't too expensive. I like the MH option because it gives me SPS keeping in the future possible, but I'm afraid of the heat. LEDs are OK but the fixtures are too expensive and the DIY option is just too messy.

Your thoughts?

Which one do you have? It looks like they only come in one color instead of a combo of different LEDs. Do you have a pic of yours? Thanks for the info.

I bought the blues and the cool whites. Also there are control with an arduino diy controller, one to one ratio.

I build 2 of them one for my 90 and one for my 135. I haven't put the 135 lights on the tank yet. Still working on the controller for it

I looked up on the arduino and it looks awesome. It's a bit over my head but I'm sure if I'm patient I may be able to figure it out. This would be an awesome topic to cover in a club meeting step by step on how to set one up. I'm looking at doing my own LEDs for a future tank and may want to set one up for it.

I went the bridgelux led's on my 20 and couldn't be more happy. I keep everything from Lps to sps to zoas and they all are thriving so far. I put 36 on mine which is overkill but man does it look good.

I'm definitely going that route for my future, bigger tank. I decided to go with the JBJ k2 viper clip on MH fixture. I found a guy that sold it to me for $100. I hooked it up last night and it looks awesome.
