Wanted to see if i could get some opinions on an issue here. I have a Hydra 32 with HMS mount that I am trying to mount correctly to my SCA 50. The Return T in the overflow is in the way of the tightening bolt. this prevents the mount from sitting flush with the tank. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to fix this? I have already chipped the back side of tank by trying to mount it correctly, but since it wasn't all the way flush the whole mount tipped over while at work.

I have since reversed the clamp so that the bolt is on the back of the tank. This works, but the light leans forward a little, and I am worried it is going to eventually fall again, or cause a stress crack on the back of the tank.

@TheStrangler is having the same exact issue as well. We both have same tank, light, and mount

Here is a pic to give everyone an idea of what is going on. That is about as far in as the tightening bolt will go, and as you can see it will not clear the Return T. I even tried taking the T completely out to see if I just got it past there initially it would work, but no go

Here is a picture of how I had to mount it. Doing it like this the weight of the light pulls the bar forward, and it leans way too much

Bump for the morning / day crowd. I posted this a little late last night.

I figured it out !!! I had the same issue and how I corrected it was to put a 1/4 of Plexiglas glass piece up against the inside of the track that's in the over flow to take up the 1/4 space that makes it lean... then you can mount it on the outside and no lean. here's a few pictures that might explain it better what I mean. I mounted my light bout 9 inches above the tank so I had like 3 inches of track inside the over flow that I attached the Plexiglas glass piece too with velcro... just to hold it for install ... once ya lock down the screw its solid

That is actually a great idea. What I ended up doing to fix this was trimming the actual screw. This allowed for the screw to scoot in inside of the overflow , and tighten up.

was thinking bout that idea as well, but wanted the overflow cover back on it.. with that I wouldn't be able to put the cover back on it.. mine is a waterbed 70,2 tank

well, at least future people looking for a solution with this issue will have some..lol
