My eel will not eat ever since I picked him up at the fish store Its been about 40days now. He looks good he's acting normal but I need to find a way to get him to eat. I tried silver sides, shrimp from store, crabs, and Molly's but no go! I really need your help guys

I wonder if soaking the food in a garlic extract will help like it does for fish. 40 days not eating seems pretty long and it seeming normal. I wonder if he is getting food from somewhere else. My experience with eels is zero so don't know much about their eating habits. I did read somewhere where some pet stores keep them in freshwater. I guess they sometimes go into fresh/ brackish water. Is yours in fresh water or saltwater because what I read states that many times when kept in fw they will not eat and waste away. SG is important for them and most species are known to go on hunger strikes when moved. Not sure if this is a different species of moray eel or not. Like I said I have zero experience with eels period. Might be something to look into. Just do more research I don't want to mislead you. Just trying to offer suggestions and help.
