I am trying to start my first tank, but i am on a serious budget. searching though local craiglist style sights i found an aqua maxx protein skimmer co-3 for 300. my questions are
What could i talk him down to?
is this skimmer worth it?
some pro and cons to the skimmer?
what is the most YOU would pay for this used skimmer?

i have already bought used tanks (the only piece of equipment i have) the tank is 125 gallon and the sump is 55 gallon
i will probably have more posts like this in the future because i don't know enough about reefing yet.
thanks in advance

Keep an eye out for people selling on the forum, you can find some good deals. With the sump I'd go with an internal PS rated for 150 with SPS load. HOB skimmers aren't as effective. JMO

Check out Adam @Battlecorals I hear nothing but good stuff about the Deltec skimmers.

wow, those just look impressive!! some of them look like weapons lol. they are a a weee bit out of my price range tho. i am trying too look for deals so i can get a first tank off the ground. might be a nice upgrade when i get a better job tho.

I love the name reefer maddness though, that is super clever!!

what does HOB mean?

do they make skimmers like that for 200 used, that would also be "user friendly" when it come to cleaning. i know you get what you pay for for but, i have to be willing to make sacrifices on my budget.
